Rural Constable robbed at gunpoint inside National Park

A Rural Constable is now counting his losses after he was attacked by two gunmen in the National Park, Thomas Lands, Georgetown and robbed of his valuables.

Constable Royston Fordyce, 26, of Thomas Street was robbed at around 19:15h on Saturday last.

It was reported to Inews that Fordyce was walking alone in the park when he was confronted by the two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

A gun was placed to his head and he was told to hand over his valuables. The Constable conplied handing over some $3000, his Samsung cell phone, along with other items; all valued at approximately $210,000.

The men then quickly made good their escape on bicycles in an unknown direction.

The Police are investigating.
