Pomeroon boat operator arrested with unlicenced gun, ammo

Police ranks in ‘F’ Division (Interior Locations) yesterday (Monday May 29) arrested an operator of a small vessel for unlawful possession of a small calibre firearm with one live round at Barakat Landing, Puruni River.
According to a Police press release at about 11:30hrs, the ranks whilst on a “river patrol”, observed the boat captain acting in a suspicious manner upon seeing them, hence a search was conducted and an unlicenced .32 Pistol with a matching round was on his person.
The suspect, a 51 year old resident of Grant Pomeroon, Essequibo River, is being processed for court tomorrow.
