Richard Stanton, the man who is accused of gunning down 43-year-old businesswoman- Patricia Senasie- in January of 2015 at Atlantic Gardens, East Coast Demerara denied the allegation when he appeared at the High Court on Monday.

Murdered: Patricia Sanasie

He is standing trial before Justice Brassington Reynolds and is being represented by Attorney, Mark Waldron.

It is alleged that on the night in question- January 12, 2015-, Senasie, along with her daughter, returned home from church.

However, as the elder woman exited her vehicle and was about to open her gate, she was confronted by a lone gunman, who discharged several rounds at her.

Eyewitnesses told investigators that a “big built” man exited a silver Toyota Raum and discharged at least four rounds at the woman.

Reports indicate that Senasie was shot to her chest, abdomen and neck, among other areas.

She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

INews was informed at that time that Senasie was the former Director of Studies of the Academy of Professional Studies.

A year prior to the woman’s death, a similar attempt had been made on Senasie’s husband’s life. At that time, she along with her brother had been implicated.

The daughter of the deceased woman, who was in the car and witnessed the shooting, positively identified Stanton as the shooter, leading to his arrest and subsequently being charged.
