[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has announced that it plans to go ahead with its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on January 25 at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) pavilion.

Whether the Board will go ahead with its election will be another tale to tell since the election might be deemed illegal according to the Cricket Administration Act, given the fact that only Minister of Sport, Dr Frank Anthony is mandated to call an election for the Board.

Attorney General and Legal Affairs Minister, Anil Nandlall has already noted that the elections would be null and void while the Minister of Sport has declared that he has written the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to set a date for the elections.

However, Dr Anthony noted that he has given the WICB 21 days to reply to his letter before going ahead with setting a date for the elections which might be held by March.
