Forde, Morgan end season in Barbados

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Cleveland Forde and Alika Morgan took part in their final events of the year at two events in Barbados.

Forde was the first Caribbean athlete to cross the finish line in the Barbados PowerAde 10k run while finishing third overall behind Kenya’s Richard Kessio who crossed the finish line first in a time of 31:41s while Dis Dieundonne of Rwanda was second.

Morgan in the 10k run finished fourth behind Kenya’s Leach Kigen, England’s Amy Chalk and Trinidad’s Tonya Nero in the that order.

Meanwhile in the half marathon run in Sunday Forde was third yet again in a time of one hour, 19mins 29s behind Kessio who finished first in one hour, nine minutes, 24s and Dieundonne who took second in one hour, 15mins 24s.

On the distaff side, Morgan replicated her 10k performance of fourth; however, Nero took the first place spot while Kigen and Chalk finished second and third respectively.

Coach of Morgan, Leslie Black thanked, the President of Guyana Donald Ramotar, the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company, Trans Guyana Airline, TCL, Director of Sport Neil Kumar, Payless Store, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, Andrew King and Steve Pemberton for their support over the past year.
