[www.inewsguyana.com] – Palo Seco Credit Union held its annual 5K Road Race event on Sunday, October 05 in Palo Seco, Trinidad where Trinidad based Guyanese Kelvin Johnson and Lionel D’Andrade finished in the winner’s row.

Johnson finished second in 19:45 while D’Andrade finished third in 20:21 in the early morning event. Trinidadian, Curtis Cox stopped the clock first in 18:59.

Meanwhile, at the afternoon’s East Asia Society of Trinidad & Tobago Chancellor Hill two miles event, the duo was at it again with Johnson reaching the top of the hill in 12:29 and D’Andrade following close in 13:26. Shane Barran of Trinidad & Tobago finished 3rd in 13:50.

D’Andrade highlighted, “I feel tired. The Hill race was a bit tiring and very steep, but I needed to it as part of my training. The October Race calendar is very hectic. Next week Saturday 11th October, I have two back-to-back races. The TCL 6K in the morning and ArcelorMittal 5K at 3:00 in the afternoon.”

D’Andrade is also expected to participate in the South American 10k set for later this month in Guyana.
