[www.inewsguyana.com] – The late Political Activist, Courtney Crum-Ewing’s mother has taken umbrage to President Donald Ramotar’s suggestion that her son was a criminal.

The President was speaking to members of the West Berbice Chamber of Commerce, when he made the suggestion and reiterated that the PPP/C government was in no way involved in Crum – Ewing’s execution.

The President described Crum-Ewing as a nuisance who was spreading racism.

“They put the Guyana flag on Blackie’s coffin and then they put the flag on this man Crum-Ewing too,” the President had said.

The slain man’s mother, Donna Harcourt said the President who is also a father of three has demonstrated much insensitivity to what she is facing as a parent, after losing her son.

She added that the President started on the right track when he called for justice to be served. “Now he gone with a turn and a twist, saying something else, he would like for me to say that about Alexi?”

The woman said the President should be focused on placing pressure on the police to bring her son’s killers to justice instead of making such irresponsible statements.

Harcourt then questioned if the President is unaware of the practices with the army which he commands, pointing out that her son is a former Solider.

“When you serve your country in the army, even if it’s one day, they drape you…he is following the samething Jagdeo said and I am sick of them. He protest all his life when they [PPP] were in Opposition, so how you could call a protestor a criminal and a nuisance? Then y’all were that too. I see budget cut and they pull out all the people, bring them from out the country side and put them to protest so them is criminals and nuisance too,” the distraught mother contended

Crum-Ewing was gunned down at Third Avenue, Diamond Housing Scheme on March 10 while urging residents to vote for the Opposition Coalition at the upcoming May 11, 2015 general and regional elections.

  1. Yes the President did make those remarks, if you read the news paper. Crum’s mother ha e a right to come forward and challenge him on such state.

  2. these people have convenient ears…hear only what they want to hear…her son was a racist….why u think he was begging for a gun to protect himself??

  3. Saying that the PNC draped Linden London who was a criminal and they did the same to Courtney could you explain what the PPP was trying to say? And the PPP has a crook like Shawn Hinds standing armed to the teeth with a gun like he ready for the gulf war in front of Freedom house. What a shame,,,the truth will be told very soon.

  4. Donna Harcout, The President never said your son was a criminal and a nuisance. Stop your lying. The PNC/AFC use your son as a pawn and discard of him, and you are being used now by them to make false statement. You need to study the PNC, and their track record.
