A Police Officer is now in hot water after he was caught attempting to smuggle a bag containing contraband into the Lusignan Prison in the wee hours of Friday morning.Reports are that the rank attempted to throw the bag over the penitentiary’s fence at around 04:18h.
However in doing so, he was observed by other ranks working the Holding Bay Area and an alarm was raised.
The bag which was caught on the fence was retrieved and the rank was promptly arrested.
Upon inspections of the said bag, a quantity of cell phones, a cell phone charger and seven packs of cigarettes were found.
The Officer was later handed over to the Inspector of Police and was escorted to the Police Station.
