The Mayor and City Council was forced to postpone a meeting today to discuss the garbage situation, due to poor turnout. The meeting is now fixed for Thursday, September 12.
Mayor Hamilton Green apologized to the few who were present and blamed poor communication for what happened.
Green said nothing can be done without money, management and manpower and the council he noted has none of the three.
Public Relations Officer Royston King noted that the next meeting will gather input from various stakeholders to be included in framework being drafted to address the city’s solid waste problem. King reiterated that the council does not have the capacity to deal with the situation. [Akash Ramlackhan]
