[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Water Incorporated, GWI, has noted that there is a chlorine gas leak has occurred at GWI’s Water Treatment Facility at Better Hope, East Coast Demerara, which was discovered in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 13.
A press statement from the GWI noted that employees have been evacuated and GWI teams with the assistance of the Guyana Fire Service are currently working to contain the leak.
Residents of Better Hope and neighbouring communities are advised that every possible action is being taken to contain the chlorine gas leak.
