Businesses pour money into GuyExpo

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Several sponsors expressed confidence in being able to promote their businesses at GuyExpo as they presented cheques to the Ministry of Tourism to ensure all measures are in place for the success of the event.

Ansa McAl, Banks DIH, Guyana Telephone & Telegraph company (GT&T), Corum Distribution – a part of Gravity Lounge Group of Companies, E- Networks, Courts, Continental Group of Companies, National Communications Network, Shangri- La Gardens, Global Technology, Impressions, Star Party Rentals and Digicel Guyana are amongst the sponsors for the event.

Minister of Tourism Industry and Commerce (ag) Irfaan Ali said as local businesses put in the finishing touches for their participation in the event on Friday, a lot of the foreign delegations have begun to arrive.

GuyExpo is an annual event aimed at promoting local businesses and linking them with international businesses, and also allowing international companies to invest in Guyana. The event is scheduled for October 3- to 5 at the Sophia Exhibition Site.

Ansa McAl’s Public Relations Officer, Darshanie Yussuf, while presenting the company’s cheque to the Tourism Ministry said, “We are very happy to be a sponsor and we see the opportunities available to us by participating in GuyExpo. We get to meet our customers and have that one on one operation with them.”

Minister Ali said GT&T has been one of the most dynamic sponsors for the GuyExpo event and a representative attached to the company said “we have been with Guy Expo from the inception and we have grown with the Expo. We will have a GT&T village with free wifi service and vendors. GuyExpo is the only forum in Guyana that allows us to mass market and has a captivated audience.”

Minister Ali said Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) is growing internationally and added that shortly there will be a competitiveness programme in Trinidad and Tobago at which approximately 900 international companies will take part, including DDL. He added that with growing investments in the Housing Sector, the Ministry is pleased to have private housing investor, Shangri – La Gardens, on board as a sponsor.   1. if these big company business can help these big events they also can help some poor people also and believe they will get more support and eventually that will be very good for them in a long term
