[www.inewsguyana.com] – A man who has been allegedly breaking into the Brickdam Police Station in recent times was early Thursday morning (March 6) caught by ranks hiding in the kitchen.

He is said to be a ‘junkie’ who would assist ranks with chores during the day. An Officer at the Brickdam Police Station said the man confessed to the crime and informed ranks that there were two others that would usual aid him.

He reportedly jumped the fence to the compound on Wednesday night (March 5) and hid himself in the kitchen and was finally caught this morning.

The compound is surrounded by high fences, laced with barbed wires and guards at points of entry/exit.

It was reported that last week thieves broke into the Property Room at the station and carted off with several items, including cash. Ranks had said then that there were no breaches to the fence of the compound.

It was speculated that last week’s break-in may have been an inside job to pervert the course of justice with regards to the investigation of the rank responsible for the disappearance of over $1M.
