[www.inewsguyana.com] – Barbados made better use of the pitches and the conditions of the National Stadium, Providence for their 136 run win over Guyana in the Regional 4 days’ second round.

This is the view expressed by Head Coach of the unit, Esuan Crandon speaking after his side’s loss on Sunday, March 9.

He said he is disappointed by the loss of the match in which Barbados seemed to have the upper hand throughout the game.

The former Guyanese player now coach adumbrated that it was hats off to the visitors for the resilience and drive shown in the field and called on the members of his unit to emulate such.

On Sunday afternoon, the Bajans pulled off a devastating 136 run win over their Guyanese counterparts, bowling them out for 94 to take their second round match inside three days.

The Day/night fixture at the National Stadium Providence was all but welcome for Crandon’s side, which saw Barbadian paceman Carlos Brathwaite punishing the Guyanese with 4 wickets, three of which represented the top order and senior batsmen.

Brathwaite added the scalps of Sewnarine Chattergoon, Assad Fudadin And Narsingh Deonarine quite cheaply.

Brathwaite’s was supported by Ashley Nurse and Suliman Benn’s 3-39 and 2-8 as the Guyanese made the 231 needed for victory look a mountain insurmountable.

In the third round, Guyana will play the Windward Islands from Thursday at Providence from 10:00.
