22 – year – old charged with dangerous driving granted bail

IMG_20140529_155128[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty-two-year-old Seon Adams of Parfaite Harmony, West Bank Demerara was today placed on a $400,000 bail for the offence of dangerous driving.

He pleaded not guilty before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. It is alleged that on May 26 on the Railway Embankment in the vicinity of Bel Air, Georgetown, he drove motorcar HC 2231 in a manner dangerous to the Public thereby causing the death of 31 – year – old Fizul Hussain.

Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru told the Court that at the time of the accident, the victim was standing in the lower parapet, fishing. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Mangru did not object to bail but asked that bail be substantial and conditions to be applied.

Adams was represented by Attorney – at – law, Glen Hanoman, who requested that his client be admitted to reasonable bail. He said his has been cooperating with the Police since the offence.

The case was adjourned to June 20.

  1. the justice system in guyana naturally sucks, imagine a man loses his life by the errant youngster and just paying a bail and he gone free. what happen to that family who lost a father and is the bread winner of the home. do these people know what the hell the doing in the great nation of ours.
