(www.inewsguyana.com) – Angela Khan of Cummings Lodge will today be charged the murder of 37 – year – old Bharrat Sugrim as recommended by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
In addition, the DPP also advised that the woman be charged with wounding her husband, Dhaniram Seewah.
On Sunday, Khan reportedly murdered Sugrim while she and her husband were involved in a violent drunken brawl.
Also yesterday, the DPP ordered the release of the woman’s husband, who was also arrested when Sugrim’s body was found.
iNews understands that the woman confessed to the murder.
Sugrim, who was a visitor to the home of the couple on Sunday attempted to intervene as a peacemaker when he was stabbed once to the region of the heart.
He was left lying in a pool of blood in the couple’s back yard and neither of them reported the incident to the police. Residents in the area said that the husband and wife would usually argue and have fights whenever they consumed alcohol.
