Spellen hailed from Stewartville, West Coast Demerara (WCD).

Initial reports are that he was pronounced Dead On Arrival (DOA) when he was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital shortly after the accident.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Denzil Moore also from Stewartville, WCD remains in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

Three other passengers who were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident suffered severe injuries but are said to be in better shape than Moore.

Reports are that the accident occurred around 03:30h this morning when Moore was proceeding along the Bushy Park, Parika, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) roadway.

Sources say one of the Toyota Tundra’s front wheel tires suffered a puncture which resulted in the young man losing control of his vehicle.

According to a police source, the driver of the vehicle would have had to be speeding when the incident took place since the Toyota Tundra ended up in a drain, then continued to topple into a yard.
