Taxi driver busted with 5 pounds of ganja in backseat

A 40-year-old taxi driver hailing from Kuru Kururu, East Bank Demerara (EBD) is being processed for court after police acting on a tip off intercepted his vehicle and found over 2 kilos of compressed marijuana.
According to the police, the vehicle was intercepted by a mobile patrol on the Friendship Public Road, EBD about 18:20hrs on Monday. Officers found on the backseat of the vehicle, in a box, four taped parcels of compressed cannabis, weighing approximately five pounds.
The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
