The lifeless body of a suspected bandit was on Sunday evening found on the Tuschen Public Road, East Bank Essequibo moments after neighbours reportedly heard an “explosion.”
The dead man has been identified as Eon Currency also known as “Muscles” of Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo.
Based on information received, Currency’s shirtless body was found with a single gunshot wound in his head, and on a bicycle which he was reportedly utilizing at the time of his demise.
A woman who resided near to the location that the now dead man was found reportedly told police that she heard the gunshot and upon “watching out” saw the 33-year-old’s body slumped in the bushes with his bicycle under him.
Residents in the village have identified the deceased as a known robber who would usually pounce on unsuspecting persons at the “Blacka” Dam in Tuschen New Scheme.
Investigations are ongoing.
