Miner charged for placing nude photo of Ex – Lover on BBM

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 24 – year – old miner of Lot 24 Gordon Street, Kitty, was today granted $125,000 bail for posting a nude picture of his former girlfriend on Blackberry Messenger (BBM).

Before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, David Khan pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that between November 1 and January he exposed to the public, an obscene picture of Sharene Gaskins.

Police Prosecutor, Bharat Mangru told the Court that the virtual complainant (VC) and the defendant are known to each other and dated for while.

He added that on one occasion, Khan asked the victim to take a look at Gaskins’ cellular phone and unknowing to her, he transferred a nude picture of her to his phone.

Mangru said several persons informed the VC that the nude picture of her has been broadcasting on BBM.

She made a report to the police and the defendant was subsequently arrested and charged.

The prosecutor did not object to bail and the matter was postponed to January 24.
