Aaliyah Bruce, 14, a student from the Anna Regina Multilateral School, who went missing since December 2015, has not been located, even though news about her disappearance is once again being disseminated.
Aaliyah, from the Cinderella county of Essequibo was last seen at her grandmother’s house. She first went missing on 23 December 2015, but was found two days later in a home at Charity by a family member. She was taken home, only to go missing again two days later. She has been missing ever since.
According to a report in the Guyana Times, Roxanne Smith, the teen’s grandmother, stated that Aaliyah showed no sign of being troubled.
She related however, that there were two issues where it was alleged that she stole some cash sometime back and was summoned to an investigation to recover what had been stolen.
When asked “why only now has this issue been raised after so many months?” the grandmother replied that the police have always been working on the matter, as such, the family had contacted officials at the Social Protection Ministry who advised them to make it public again.
Relatives are appealing to anyone who has information that could lead to the whereabouts of Aaliyah Bruce to make contact with the nearest Police Station or her family on 669-8225 or 625-9686.
