[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) says it is investigating the death of 40-year-old Sharon 3c734eda38bc3a13b6d1019271924720_M (1)Bowman, of Bachelor’s Adventure East Coast Demerara.

This announcement comes ten days after demands by relatives of Bowman for the GPHC to explain how the woman died.

Bowman died on September 17 at the Institution while delivering twins, more than a week after being admitted.

Family members believe that induced labour was responsible for her death. However the cause of death following an autopsy has been documented as severe pneumonia.

Relative have since discarded the cause of death, saying that the woman was very healthy prior to her admittance to the institution. The twin was delivered and is alive.

The GPHC has promised to make public the results of its findings and extends sincere condolences to the family of the late Sharon Bowman.
