Explaining the significance of Maghi Purnima, Spiritual Leader and Administrator of the Guyana Sevashram Sangha, Swami Shiva Shankaranandaji Maharaj said the day was very auspicious for devotees of the Sangha given its specific relevance to the life and teachings of Acharya Pranavanandaji Maharaj.

Acharya Pranavanandaji Maharaj attained “Illumination” on this special Purnima in the month of Magh – (February), in the year 1916. On this night, Swami Maharaj said the divine mission of Acharya was revealed to his cosmic mind as he sank into oblivion – deep meditation under a “Kadamba” tree. During the mediation, his merging with Hindu God Shiva and his purpose on earth became more evident, while the Holy Mantra “Hara Guru Shankara Shiva Shambo” emanated from his holy lips.

Maharaj said the day also signified the beginning of his organisation Bharat Sevashram Sangha in India, as hundreds of selfless workers were organised by him for religious function.

His holiness Acharya Pranavanandaji Maharaj’s presence on earth signifies the eradication of evil, corruption, injustice, hypocrisy and lustful practices. His teachings are aimed towards leading Man to his divine heritage.

It is understand that he was, and still is, regarded as the “Prophet of the Age” whose foremost task was to re-organise the Sannyasins through the practice of self-control and sense control. Religion for Swami Acharya Pranavanandaji Maharaj meant the awakening of dormant divine energy in every human being. He echoed, “Weakness, defeatism and cowardice are the greatest of sins – while heroism, manliness and manhood are the highest merits.”

Swami Shiva Shankaranandji Maharaj is, therefore, urging everyone to attend this function at the Cove and John Ashram today. Special Aarti will be held at 12:00 noon.
