[www.inewsguyana.com] – Guyana is set to make drastic changes to their Regional 4 day side ahead of the 4th round of competition set for Barbados on Friday.

According to reports, Vishal Singh has been overlooked by selectors in favor of middle order batsman Chanderpaul Hemraj following dismal performances in the just concluded third round against the Windwards at the National Stadium.

Sewnarine Chattergoon has been replaced by Leon Johnson.

Chattergoon made 87 runs from six innings with a highest score of 50 while Singh’s combined total equaled 111 runs.

Johnson who was initially named captain will return to marshal the troops after he is confirmed to have recovered from a sprained knee. Guyana for the while has yet to spark in this competition suffering two wins and a draw thus far.

Their closest thing to a win was Sunday’s drawn game against the Windward Islands where they fell short by 38 runs in a match which expired.

Nonetheless, the performance of Veersammy Permaul who bagged 10 for 118 in that match has given Guyanese fans something to smile about. Guyana face the combined campuses and colleges in round four of the tournament in Barbados in a  day/night contest starting daily.
