Cambio dealer robbed at gunpoint in front of his home

A 51-year-old cambio dealer was reportedly ambushed by two males on Sunday evening in front of his Meadow Bank, Georgetown home and was robbed of $450,000 in cash and a gold chain.

According to police, Trevor Benn of Meadow Bank, Georgetown arrived home around 18:00hrs on the day in question and as he was about to enter his yard, two men– one of whom was sporting a hand gun- approached him and demanded that he turn over his valuables.

Fearing for his life, Benn reportedly obliged and the two bandits fled the scene with the cash and gold chain, leaving the victim unharmed.

No one has been apprehended as yet, but police have confirmed that CCTV footage near the area where the incident occurred is being reviewed.

Investigations are ongoing.
