[www.inewsguyana.com] – Recently sworn in Minister of Governance within the Ministry of Presidency, Raphael Trotman will be responsible for the oversight of the management of the nation’s natural resources.

A press statement has since noted that Trotman will now occupy the office on Upper Brickdam and has already met with the staff of the Ministry.

“The Minister has commenced scheduled familiarization meetings and visits to the several agencies under his portfolio. During the coming weeks the Minister also intends to meet with international, donor, private sector organizations, other development partners and stakeholders of the governance and natural resources sectors,” the press release noted.

In the previous administration, the Natural Resources sector was a separate ministry, which was under the control of Robert Persaud.

Meanwhile, it was also announced that World Environment Day will be observed in Guyana and around the World on June 5, 2015 and it is expected that the Minister will be out and about supporting the efforts at restoring the image of Georgetown and that of communities outside of the city.

  1. Ridiculous. What does Trotman know about managing natural resources. I am already hating much of the decisions being made by the coalition.

  2. I don’t think that the administration could be any more confused.

Now one of the three APNU ministers who are supposed to be spearheading the constitutional reform process is now responsible for Natural Resources.

I guess now Nagamootoo and Ramjattan can see where Trotman’s true allegiance lies…at the right hand of Granger and Harmon. Well, if the cap fits….
