A New Amsterdam businessman and his 22-year-old son were attacked and robbed after three gunmen pounced on them.

Reports are the gunmen struck at about 18:30hrs Tuesday as 49-year-old Deonarine Albert was returning to his Second Street, Overwinning, New Amsterdam home.

According to reports, the man was about to enter his house when he was confronted by the three armed men.

The businessman handed over some $620,000 to the criminals along with his car keys after they began attacking his son. The men then fled with the businessman’s car, which was later found abandoned at Savannah Park, New Amsterdam.
