Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 45-year-old Kissoon Latchman who was found dead in his home at 16th Street Foulis, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
The man, who lived alone and is a known alcoholic, was found with a wound to his head at around 06:00hrs on Thursday.
He was last seen alive in his hammock at around 20:30hrs the night before.
The man’s friend, who usually checks up on him, visited the following morning when he noticed the door left opened.
The friend entered the house and discovered the man dead on a chair. The friend also observed blood on the man’s bed and several areas in the house including in the hammock and on the ground just below the hammock.
He immediately raised an alarm and the dead man’s son came over.
Police were then summoned to the scene and investigators noticed a wound to the man’s left side head.
Investigations are ongoing.
