An 18-year-old pregnant teacher and her 26-year-old partner were on Wednesday evening attacked and robbed by three cutlass-wielding bandits who kicked down their door to gain entry into their home.

The incident occurred at around 20:30hrs at St Ignatius Village, Central Rupununi.

The couple were in bed when the bandits barged in and started to chop the man about his body.
