Essequibo Mini Bus driver remanded for possession of cocaine

[www.inewsguyana.com]A 32 – year – old mini bus driver of Danielstown, Essequibo Coast was remanded to prison on Monday by Magistrate Sunil Scarce for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

The bus driver, Ricardo Chester who appeared at the Charity Magistrate’s Court pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on September 13, police found 21.1 grams of cocaine in his house.

According to allegations, at around 4:40h on the day in question, police conducted a search at the man’s house and found a plastic bag hidden next to a wooden post. The court heard that 79 foil of hard “whitish creamish” substance was found suspected to be that of cocaine.  He was represented by Attorney Lachmie Dindyal.
