[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 59 – year – old Plaisance woman was placed on $25,000 bail for stealing milk powder from Bounty supermarket. Brenda Beaton pleaded not guilty to the offence before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
The alleged incident occurred on November 2 at Water Street, Georgetown. The court was told that the woman stole one can of Milex powdered milk valued at $5,452.
According to the police prosecutor, on the day in question the defendant went to Bounty Supermarket on Water Street, took the milk and placed it under her skirt. On her way out, she was confronted by a security guard and the stolen article fell out.
The prosecutor further told the court that the accused is a known shoplifter, who gave the police her occupation as a business woman. She is scheduled to return to Court on November 20.
