[www.inewsguyana.com] – Moments after the news broke of the killing of Policeman, Lance Corporal Warren Blue, who was shot and killed during a robbery last night in Montrose, East Coast Demerara, Shonnette Adams, the mother of Shaquille Grant showered praises to heaven.
During a telephone interview last evening, she told iNews that her prayers were answered. Blue and Constable Jamal Lewis were fingered in the September 11, 2012 murder of 17 – year – old Shaquille Grant and both men have been on the run for over two years, after charges were brought against.
The third policeman, Terrence Wallace has been committed to stand trial. It is alleged that Grant was with some of his friends sitting under a shed in a yard on Caesar Street, Agricola, East Bank Demerara when three police ranks in uniform shot him.
Police had stated then that they had received information that a gang in Agricola was planning a robbery on a business entity located near the Guyana National Stadium, Providence. Constable Lewis remains on the run.
The young man’s mother told iNews that Blue’s death is a clear indication of who the real criminal is and feels vindicated that one of her son’s killers was “cut down like the wicked by God.”
“Let me tell you, it make me know and reassure me that God is God and you can run away… but not from God. It doesn’t justify what he did to my son but let me tell you he get his fair share and he show the world that he is the criminal so it’s time they really stop coming up with things to frame my child,” Adams said.
The woman then made a passionate plea to Constable Lewis to turn himself in before he suffers a similar fate.
“Lewis better turn in himself otherwise he will end up just so.”
Grant’s mother has never given up hope that the men responsible for her son’s death would be brought to justice. The woman has been celebrating her son’s death anniversary every year and only recently held a candle light vigil at the entrance of Agricola.
