[www.inewsguyana.com] – West Indies Women punished the Sri Lanka today with a clinical performance that gained them an eight wicket win at the Sylhet Stadium.

Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka Women started well to reach 41 for one in the fifth over before suffering a sudden collapse to lose their last nine wickets for 43 runs, Opener Yasoda Mendis scoring 21 while Eshani Kaushalya got 20.

Left armer Shanel Daley snared four for 15 off her 4 overs to set up the win that put the side on top the B group.

In their try at the chase, the regional women wasted little time in getting to the point, finishing with five overs to spare.

Stefanie Taylors unbeaten 56 coupled with Kaycia Knight’s 15 led the side home with the loss of two wickets.

The ladies have six points after their three games and are poised to enter the semi finals after their last preliminary game.
