[www.inewsguyana.com]Following a poll conducted by iNews, which found that the majority of persons are not satisfied with the police response to crime, Police Commissioner [ag], Leroy Brumell says that the Police Force is doing its best to tackle the crime situation in Guyana.

In response to the findings of the poll, Brumell said, “We are experienced in what we’re doing. We don’t expect persons who are not trained to give a true analysis. But if those persons work with the military or par military, they will be thinking differently. I think we’re working, we’re trying our best.”

Following a week of voting on the question, “are you satisfied with the Police Force response to crime in Guyana?” 61 percent of participants said no, 36 percent said yes and a mere three percent were undecided.

Over the years, the Police Force has been heavily criticized for their policing tactics, use of excessive force, brutality and in general the way they respond to a crime situation, while a few were commended for their professionalism and bravery.
