A prison raid carried out on the Timehri Prison on Wednesday morning unearthed a number of number of illegal items including improvised stabbing weapons, razor blades and yeast, among other contraband.
The search carried out with the aid of some 50 prison personnel occurred between 05:56 and 08:10h.
In addition to the above items, one cellular phone, three smoking utensils, two phone chargers, two phone cables, one earpiece, 15 cigarettes, 14 cigarette lighters, three nails and one Samsung battery.
The search was said to be without any incident.
