“We are a well balanced side”- W.I Women Coach

Some of the Action Today[www.inewsguyna.com] – West Indies women’s Coach Sherwin Campbell says that his side is balanced and is capable of carting off the ICC world T20 Trophy.

Speaking after his side’s opening game, the coach said that the team boasts some class spinner, something he says will be key in Bangladesh.

Campbell, a former West Indies player lauded the work of his team, inclusive of the sturdy form by Stefanie Taylor who is coming off an injury as well as Deondra Dotting who played a gem of a game.

The West Indies Women brushed aside the challenge of South Africa as warm ups for the World T20 Continue in Bangladesh.

A 52 run margin was what they convincingly won by to revive the spirits of the Caribbean People.

Batting first, the Regional Team reached 123/4 with Stephanie Taylor playing the lead role and top scoring with  45, Natasha Mclean 26, and Chinelle Henry 25.

For the South Africans, two were picked up by Shabnim Ismail while one each went to Dane Van Neikrick and Sune Luse.

In their chase, South Africa went all out in 18.5 overs with 16 from Trisha Chetty, and 24 from Yolandi Van Der Westhuizen.

Annisa Mohammed and Denondra Dotting each had 2 wickets, while Tremaine Smartt, Subrina Munroe, Shaqunna Quintire, Shakeira Selman and Shamine Campbell each had 1.
