[www.inewsguyana.com] – The police are continuing to process the scene where the body of the kidnapped businessman Rajendra Singh was found Wednesday morning (April 09) with a gunshot wound to the head and his hands tied behind his back.

A source close to the investigations told iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) that while there are no suspects as yet; investigators continue to dig very deep to get to the bottom of the murder.

In relation to the setting up of a sting operation to net the kidnappers while the man was still alive, the source could not confirm or deny but reminded that the matter is a sensitive one which needs to be treated very carefully.

The police are also trying to ascertain if the man was shot at the location his body was discovered (Le Repentir Cemetery) or if he was shot elsewhere and dumped in the area.

Singh was snatched from his Foulis, East Coast Demerara Spare Parts business place on Saturday evening (April 05) by two gun men.

iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) was informed that Singh had made contact with his wife, through the kidnappers and told her to pay the $25M ransom.

The kidnappers, while contacting the wife, were also making contact with other family members to assure the payment of the ransom.

iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) has been reliably informed that the woman lost contact with the kidnapers on Tuesday (April 08) after they gave her a twenty four hour deadline to have the money paid.

It was also reported to this news site (www.inewsguyana.com) that the police who had taken possession of the woman’s mobile phone were the ones receiving the calls from the kidnappers which triggered the men and possibly alerted them that a sting operation might have been in the making.

Singh lived in Enmore, East Coast Demerara with his wife and 13 – year – old son.
