Former Slingerz Disk Jockey (DJ) 36- Year – old Sheldon Cheddie, popularly known as DJ Cheddie was last evening (Monday September 9) gunned down in Tucville, Georgetown. The former DJ of 39-949 Jackson Street, Tucville was reportedly shot seven times by two men on bicycles around 20:30hrs at Turning Point, Tucville.
Cheddie was immediately rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, some friends of the now dead father of five chased after the two gunmen who dropped their bikes and ran, after committing the act and was successful in apprehending one of the shooter.
The shooter, whose identity is unknown at this time, was without hesitation beaten before being taken to the police and then to the Georgetown Public Hospital to seek medical attention under guard, for injuries inflicted about his body including his head.
The police said they were swapping the man’s hands for gun powder residue.
The dead man’s father Keith Cheddie told the media that he was very shocked when the received the news of his son’s death and does not know of any reason why someone would want his son dead.
Relatives and friends gathered at the hospital last evening in tears and disbelief. They recalled the Cheddie as a humble, easy going and jovial individual.
