Police in a subsequent release confirmed that at about 10:30hrs today 52 – year – old Ann Gravesande was in her grocery shop when she was attacked by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Gravesande was shot and injured to her right foot and right hand, and robbed of an un – ascertained sum of cash by the perpetrators who then escaped.
She has been admitted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
Efforts by iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) to contact the woman’s husband proved futile. Investigations are in progress.
