[www.inewsguyana.com]– A sense of relief is felt by businessman Ramchand Ramjeet of Ramchand Auto Spares, located at Sheriff and Duncan Streets Georgetown, after a man who attempted to rob one of his regular customers was shot and killed.

According to Ramjeet, the victim came from the bank in a taxi to purchase spare parts from his store when two men ran into the store and held his customer at gun point; relieving him of an undisclosed sum of cash.

The men, who are believed to have traced the businessman then attempted to escape on a CG motor cycle; however, the victim who is a licensed firearm holder fired a shot, fatally wounding one of the perpetrators to his head. The other managed to escape.

The businessman was taken away from the scene by the police for security reasons. The owner has surveillance cameras in his store. He was however ordered by the police not to release the footage to anyone, since they are still trying to track down the bandit who escaped.

The undisclosed sum of cash was recovered along with a firearm that was used by the bandits to carry out the robbery. The alleged bandit is yet to be identified however, the man is of African descendant and said to be in his mid 20’s.

The man’s body was taken to the Lyken’s funeral parlor. A single spent shell was recovered at the scene.

  1. Y is it the police have to poses up with big gunslike IS dem kill the bandit or the police now come to kill him now

  2. kill the other bandit.there is no law and order anywhere in the country.police must not look for citizens when they take the law in their own safety and protegtionbut must give praises and thanks for assisting the govt to run the country

  3. The business sector must pursue cashless transactions.
If parts are required on a regular basis, an account for credit needed to be created.
A credit card can be easily used for these type of transactions.
It is a total waste of human resources to see a young man in his prime wasted.
Problem is these motor cycle bandits are looking for fast money.
They do not care who they hurt.
I must compliment the Businessman for acting in self defense.
