The U.S. Embassy in Georgetown has announced that it will host two American basketball coaches – NBA coach Elvis Valcarcel, Assistant Coach for Player Development for the New Orleans Pelicans, and Agnus Berenato, women’s Head Coach at Kennesaw State University from August 2 to 4, 2017 .
During their visit, the coaches will conduct an athletes’ clinic with student players, which will include training regimens and techniques, physical fitness and nutrition, the Embassy said in a statement today.
Among the athletes in attendance will be basketball players from Georgetown, Berbice and Linden.
The U.S. Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission, Terry Steers-Gonzalez, will address the participants of the clinic, and Director of Sports, National Sports Commission, is scheduled to deliver remarks.
