Two Laing Avenue, Georgetown residents earlier today (Friday), appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged for stealing a car engine along with other items.

David George, 18 of Laing Avenue, Squatting Area and Seon Nedd, 27, of 189 Laing Avenue, Georgetown both denied the allegation made against them.

The charge read that, they, on August 15 2017 at 65 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, stole one car engine valued at $150,000, four shacks valued $40,000 and one AC Unit and compressor valued $60,000; a total value of $250,000, property of Jermaine Davidson.

The facts of the matter revealed that the Virtual Complainant (VC) was involved in an accident at Alexander Street, Kitty, and the following day, was forced to park his car at the address from where it was taken.

The items were reportedly left in the car. However, when checks were made on the 21 August 2017, the items were all found to be missing. As such the matter was reported and the defendants were both arrested and charged.

Police Prosecutor Shawn Gonsalves had no bail objections. Bail was granted in the sum of $100,000.

Both men are required to reappear in Court on September 15 2017.
