Two Berbicians earlier today confessed to law enforcement officials that they were involved in the murder of 27-year-old Faiyaz Narinedatt of Number 70 Village who was found dead on November 1, 2016 on the public road.

Reports indicate that the duo also implicated an overseas based Guyanese as the mastermind of the brutal attack.

Inews understands that Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation on Tuesday from the Corentyne Police who observers deemed reluctant in wanting to probe the matter, which initially appeared as a accident, further.

It was during their investigations that seven persons were arrested.

According to Crime Chief Wendel Blanhum out of the seven suspects, who were taken to Georgetown, two of them confessed to the crime.

Blanhum, based on the information he received, relayed that Narinedatt was beaten unconscious by the men, placed in the trunk of a car and taken to the public road where they laid him on the ground and ran over him with their motor car in an effort to stage the murder as a road accident.

This online publication was also informed that the motive for this gruesome murder is linked to the overseas based Guyanese. Information reaching Inews suggests that the foreigner, who is also a business man, began to make sexual advances to Narinedatt who reportedly rejected him. On one occasion, it was said that the business attempted to fondle Narinedatt while he was intoxicated but even then Narinedatt rejected him.

Reportedly embarrassed and unable to suffer rejection anymore, the foreigner allegedly instructed the two Berbicians to beat and kill the 27-year-old man.

Narinedatt’s body was subsequently discovered on road around 15:45 hrs on November 1, 2016. While many believed that his death was the result of a hit and run, his family contended that he was murdered and urged the police to probe the matter.
