In what could be described as a keen contest, the 19-year-old Essequibian  won the judges’ hearts with her song ‘I have hope’.

The Mashramani Junior Calypso competition was the first in a series of music events for this year’s Mashramani celebrations being held under the theme ‘Celebration of Diversity, Unity and Sovereignty’.

The competition was sponsored by Banks DIH Limited in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Department of Culture Youth and Sport.
