Humphrey-cycling-[www.inewsguyana.com]This year’s Troy Humphrey memorial cycling race has been shifted from its usual national park venue to the sea wall bandstand tomorrow morning (Sunday, November 3).

Expected to commence at 10:00, the 16th edition of the tournament has made the jump to the sea wall bandstand which has been attracting a lot more cycling attention recently.

The event is sponsored heavily by Humphrey’s Bakery and Farm Products of Ketley Street, Charlestown will be organized by the Roraima Bikers Club.

It will encompass some eight categories with the feature event being the Category 1-4, which will go for 30 laps with the top six finishers receiving cash incentives, with ten prime prizes up for grabs in the event.

Meanwhile the leading four riders in the Junior/Juveniles 20-lap race will be handsomely rewarded as well with that race offering six prime prizes at the stake.

other races are also expected to bring the heat when the top three finishers in the BMX Open which goes over three laps, the Mountain Bikes over five laps and Veterans Under-50 over six laps.

The club has not forgotten the older gentlemen in the sport with the Veterans Over-60 which crosses a distance of six laps, the Team Time Trials which is a four lap event and the females who will also receive a prize.

Last year’s event held in the National Park took the form of an 11-race programme, with Linden’s Rastaff O’Selmo winning the feature 25-lap School Boys and Invitational.
