[www.inewsguyana.com] – Chief Executive Officer of the Limacol CPL, Damien O’Donohoe announced today that Prime Minister, Kamla Persad Bissessar has restored the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel name to the franchise.
This action came following global outrage, after T&T’s Sport Minister, Anil Roberts subtracted the name from the Red Steel.
The CEO in a statement noted, “We are absolutely thrilled that the Red Steel will once again proudly bear the name of Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel, and, with three home games this week, we are in no doubt that this news will give Captain Dwayne Bravo and his team an extra boost in their efforts to take home the title of CPL Champions 2014. We wish them all the best and would like to thank the fans in Trinidad & Tobago for their fantastic support.”
Captain Dwayne Bravo had raised strong objections after the words were dropped from the team.
