A team comprising of top officials from the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) are presently meeting with the relatives of the 17-year-old male who was electrocuted on Sunday last in front of his Canal No. 2 Polder, West Bank Demerara home.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the power company, GPL is in the process of completing its preliminary investigations on the issue and a decision will be taken with respect to compensation for the family.
Inews had reported that Bridgemohan was killed at around 19:00hrs on Sunday evening after he came in contact with a loose electrical wire a short distance from his home.
Due to there being reports of blackout in the area, this publication was informed that, the teen was unable to see the wire.
As such, he was electrocuted and subsequently pronounced dead at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
