Teenagers accused of attacking, robbing man remanded to prison

DSC05033Eighteen – year – old Dextroy Fredericks of Mandela Avenue and 19 – year – old Akeem Towler of East La Penitence, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman charged with simple larceny.

Both men pleaded not guilty to the offence and were remanded to prison.

According to the allegation, on August 03 at Thomas Street South Cummingsburg Georgetown, the duo was armed with an ice pick, which they used to attack and rob Jade Bently of several articles totaling $161,000.

Police prosecutor Vishnu Hunt objected to bail on the grounds that a weapon was used to execute the crime, the penalty attached to such an offence and if granted bail, they may interfere with the complainant.
