A 17-year-old boy was on Tuesday remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts-one week after being apprehended for larceny.

Randy Smith, a Georgetown resident is accused of stealing 4 vehicle shocks and 4 speakers from a Hummer between the period of February and March 2018 at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

The Court heard that on the day of the robbery, Smith entered the Hummer belonging to Anthony Singh and removed the items.

The matter was reported to the East Ruimveldt Police Outpost and the accused was later apprehended.

He had allegedly taken Police to a location where the vehicle shocks- valued at $280,000- were found.

However, the stolen speakers- valued at $160,000- were not retrieved.

At that time, while leaving the location, Smith reportedly managed to escape from police custody and had been in hiding. However, last week, he was re-captured.

He was remanded to prison until Wednesday.
