Sussex Street man gunned down…possible link to execution of GDF Lance Corporal

Another Charlestown man was last night gunned down execution style while he was sitting in a chair on the corners of Adelaide and Sussex Streets.

Reports are that around 21:30h, two men on a CG motorcycle rode up to the now dead man, Walton Taylor, also known as “Tuffy” and opened fire, riddling his body with bullets.

crimeThe two perpetrators then made good their escape on their motorcycle.

INews was told that “Tuffy” did not die immediately and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) by persons in the area.

However, he drew his last breath while receiving treatment at the city hospital.

Family members and neighbours of the now dead man converged at the GPHC late last night when the news spread that he was shot multiple times by gunmen.

A relative of “Tuffy” told the media that his death may be linked to the recent murder of Guyana Defence Force Lance Corporal Kevon Payne, of Sussex Street, Charlestown.

Payne was shot dead while he was standing on the roadway at Lyng and Sussex Streets, Charlestown in the company of other men.

According to reports, two men on a CG motorcycle had ridden up and open fire on Payne who was shot at least five times.

Investigations are presently on-going into both murders.

  1. If we don’t come up with a plan fast to thwart these motorbikes bandits . It will get worst. The color coded license plates based on your last names. Placing surveillance caneras at certain streets .Traffic Cops stopping these motorcycle drivers if they look suspicious.
