[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 30 – year – old Chainsaw Operator of Region One (Barima-Waini) was on Monday (December 30) remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on a murder charge.
The accused, Filton Hart who stood calmly with a pleasant face was not required to plead to the indictable offence which alleged that on Wednesday, December 25 at Kwakwani, Berbice River he murdered Marlon Sam.
The particulars of the case were not revealed in Court. Hart will return to Court on January 10.
However, in a previous report police stated that 23 – year – old Marlon Sam of Kwakwani Park, Berbice River was murdered at about 23:00hrs on Christmas Day (December 25).
Initial investigations revealed that Sam was at a night spot when he became involved in an argument with another man and was stabbed to his chest.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Kwakwani Hospital and the suspected was subsequently arrested.
